Fried Hair Fix-it

Random advice from me.

Many things can damage your hair - bleach/hair dye, the ocean, bad shampoos, bad water, etc. This is my method for restoring hair to health and normality. (Note: I have what's considered 'normal' hair to begin with, not dry or thin, not oily. If you have dry/thin hair you may need more serious moisturizing, if you have oily hair make sure you use as pure a conditioner as you can find/afford and rinse completely!)

Pick up a bottle of Ultra Swim (they sell it at Ulta) and a bottle of Humectress by Nexxus (they sell this nearly everywhere now - also, if you have very dry hair, you may want to pick up some Emergencee by Nexxus.)

Wash your hair at once with your normal shampoo, then once or twice with the Ultra Swim with the water on hot. Your hair will feel a bit weird after this, because the Ultra Swim strips it of all the build-up and some of the natural oils.

Run the water as hot as you can stand it and let it run over your hair until your hair is good and hot. Then, slather on a ton of the Humectress and wrap your head in a towel. Stay in the shower w/the steam and your head wrapped for 10 mins or so.

Turn the water as cool as you can stand and rinse your hair. After its totally rinsed, put a very small amount of Humectress (nickel-sized dot) on the ends of your hair and you are done (don't rinse again! - also if you have oily hair skip the last step.)

Depending on how messed up your poor hair is, you may need to do the deep conditioning a few times (only once a day though!).
